Gay teen burned and decapitated

Towleroad reported today that a gay Puerto Rican teen was found brutally murdered on the island.
Nineteen-year-old, Jorge Steven Lopez Mercado’s body was found burned, decapitated and dismembered on Nov. 14 in Cayey, a city only a few miles away from his hometown in Caguas.
According to an iReport by Christopher Pagan, “He was a very well known person in the gay community of Puerto Rico, and very loved.”

- I think our nation fails homeless people each and everyday. I also think our nation and its greed is the main reason why there is so much homelessness in this country.
Government funded and run agencies haven't done and aren't doing enough to end homelessness in this country.
- What are some of your thoughts or views on gays and lesbians?
- I am gay and I am just as much a HUMAN as any other HUMAN on this planet. When I am cut, I will bleed, when I am hurt, I will cry, and when I am attacked I will fight back
- What are your thoughts and views on HIV/AIDS?
- The nightmare of HIV began April 3, 2008 for me and it has been one bad day after another. There are times I wish I didnt even know. Access to care for HIV in thi country for poor people and BLACKS is lousy and this is main reason why Blacks DIE from HIV/AIDS. LACK OF CARE
- If you could change one thing about the world we live in what would it be?
- Ignorance. I feel if people took the time to educate themselves on every level there would be no homeless people, there would be no room for people killing each other over something as silly as the skin they are in and our nation wouldnt be at war over oil.
