I run a grassroots HIV organization called Dab the AIDS Bear Project. I am also our advocate and spokesperson at AARP and Divided We Fail.
Recently it was the 20th anniversary of the passing of my partner Brad and my god daughter Candace both who lost their battle with AIDS in 1989. They will always be in my heart and the reason I do what I do not only for children with HIV and AIDS but all of my brothers and sisters.
Welcome, as I told you this community is so awesome and the people here are so freaking amazing. The blogs are sweet to. I hope you will start one here as well. TRAV has some pretty powerful vids about HIV and AIDS. I am happy you have joined. I just checked out the site you have, so now i have ton of questions for you.
ADAP, LOL how funny you have the waiting list on your site. Cool Cant wait to share with and get to know you better
WOW
I am bloggin this very thing right now.
I so want to do all I can to slow HIV and AIDS down. I just a call that someone I know has passed, this is the second guy in less then a month and my soul is hurting. He was Black and doing all he could to get into care.
It's so sad to still see people die from AIDS who are doing all they can to get care,
Thanks Daddy Dab! (:
It was a quiet one because of the chemo but I didn't want anything loud anyway. Had a nice dinner with friends and family. I don't think we've been formally introduced, I'm Forah btw *reaching out a hand* When's your b'day? Well it was really nice meeting you, and I look forward to getting to know you in the coming days. Have a lovely day (:
Glad you had a good one. I know how chemo can suck all the energy out of you. My bday was a few days ago on March 28th. Had a great one hosting my city's first women's HIV prevention conference.
Hello Dab and welcome to "PKK" as I love to call it. I hope you enjoy your time here. This is a great community and I am wanted to stop by and say welcome. I really enjoyed your introduction. You have such a wonderful smile as well
Dab
I was just reading your story and Kengi sent out a cool message to the network about you being on blog talk radio. That was the first time I have even tunned in so I was so impressed and happy to hear you speak. Its so cool to have you hear on PKK. I hope to read blogs from you. You are so amazing
thanks for your message Jeff. Kengi is great and I am so honored to not only be on this website but to know Kengi. He is an inspiration to all people. Even though he has been handed a bunch of lemons... he makes the most out of every day and turns them into lemonade.
As far as a blog, I write a daily blog about being one of the first Americans diagnosed, what is going on with our elected officials in DC and the US through my work with AARP and Divided We Fail, life as a gay man with HIV and current events. So check it out. Most of all I hope it serves as an inspiration to other people with HIV. If I can live 28 years... so can they. Especially those newly diagnosed which is a very hard time for anyone to handle.
