Today my grandpa passed away,
he stopped eating since last Friday
after a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's.
The last time he saw me
he did not even know who I was.
Later he did not recognize his own children.
I'm overwhelmed because
on top of all this
I might be pregnant.
I need to go buy a test tomorrow.
I don't even have the money to buy the test.
Let alone care for a baby.
I remember my grandfather
making birdhouses
the smell of saw dust
old pipes in the backyard
making music out of paint drum… Continue

Yesterday I went to bring Dee some flowers,

Grateful for..
I am grateful for being the eldest of five children,
and learning from the things my parents did right--and wrong.
I'm grateful to have my health, strength of body, and soundness of mind.
I'm grateful for the ability to empathize with the pain
and suffering of both people and animals.
I'm grateful to physically as well as emotionally be able
to experience the love of others.
I'm grateful that there's never a dull moment,
whether it be out on the town with friends
or a night spent indoors, curled… Continue
